Dimapur, Sep. 14 (EMN): The State College of Teacher Education, Kohima (SCTE-K), conducted its annual sports week from September 11 to the 13th at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima.

Principal of SCTE Hekishe Sema, attended the occasion as the special guest, stated the general secretary of SCTE-K students’ council in an update on Saturday.

Sema in his speech encouraged the students to develop both body and mind for an all round development. He stressed on the importance of physical education and the need to include sports week in the college curriculum. He advised the students to develop respect and cooperation among the students and to compete in a healthy sportsmanship spirit.

The first day of the sports week started off with track and field events. Both men and women participated in running race, high jump and long jump.

The second day witnessed men’s football and women’s volleyball matches.

The third day events included tug of war, men’s volleyball and indoor games. Indoor games included badminton and table tennis for both men and women.

Moasunep of B.Ed 1st Semester and Arenla Pongen of M.Ed 1st Semester were adjudged the best male and female players respectively.
