Shramdaan across Nagaland on October 2; Rio to participate

Dimapur, Oct. 1 (EMN): The Home department (GAB-II) has informed that a state-wide mass plastic waste shramdaan will be held across the state as part of Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. Through a press release, it has requested all the government departments, agencies, educational institutions, faith-based organisations, police, paramilitary and the citizens to actively participate by carrying out mass social work in their respective offices, wards, villages and residential premises in order to make Nagaland “single-use plastic-free” state.

Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio will kick off the mass cleanliness drive at the Old NST Kohima on October 2 at 7 am, informed DIPR.

Dimapur
Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol will kick off the mass shramdam from City Tower Junction Dimapur at 6 am and lead the Swachhata Hi Seva pledge. He has requested all officers and staff of various departments under the district, military/ paramilitary, shopkeepers and all citizens to attend and participate in the launching programme of the campaign.

Longleng
The district administration of Longleng has informed the people through a press release that a mass social work will be conducted in Longleng town and adjoining villages on Oct. 2 as part of Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. The DC will launch the social work at DC office complex at 8:00 am and administer the shramdaan with Swachhata pledge. So, all the ward presidents, government officers, heads of educational institutions, NGOs and civil societies have been asked to supervise and monitor in their respective jurisdiction. The citizens have also been requested to take part in the social work for plastic-free environment in Longleng.

Wokha
ADC Wokha, Mhathung Tsanglao has informed all the residents of Wards/Colonies under Wokha Town Council jurisdiction that a mass cleanliness drive will be organised on October 2 as part of Swachhata Hi Seva campaign with special focus on cleaning drainage and collection plastic waste in their respective ward/colony from 7:00 am onwards. So, all wards/colony authorities have been informed to mobilise the residents/business establishments/schools in their respective wards/colonies for the event.
