Dimapur, Dec. 29 (EMN): A Gospel concert featuring Dr. Benny Prasad and Zanbeni Prasad along with selected local artistes were staged on December 24 at Shaki Baptist Church. The gospel concert was sponsored by Gift Ministry of Bethel Faith School at Seithekima.

During the concert, Benny and his wife Zanbeni performed Hindi, English and Lotha songs. They challenged the youths with their powerful testimonies, a DIPR report stated.

Prasad is a world record holder for being the fastest person to travel 245 nations including Antarctica in six years, six months and 22 days. In 2004, he invented the ‘Bongo guitar’ and performed with it at the official welcoming of South African athletes, as well as in the cultural stage of the 2004 Olympic Games in Greece.

He has performed for presidents, parliaments and dignitaries and also at the opening ceremony of the 2007 World Military Games. He has also performed at the 2012 Olympic and Para Olympic Games in London.

After travelling for 13 years to 257 nations and breaking six world records, Benny quit his world concert tours and built a 400-seat cafe in Bengaluru with his wife, called “Chai 3:16” to reach out to college students who are depressed, lonely and suicidal.

Other local artists who performed at the programme included Naga Idol finalist 2012 Thunglamo Ngullie, and others Pideno Shiteri, Yanithung Lotha, and an 83-year old Patton.

The concert is stated to have organised in memory of architect Avung Odyuo, who died on August 8 2016. The director and founder of Gift Ministry Thungjamo Odyuo, father of Avung, said Gift Ministry focuses on organising camps, concerts, crusades, special programmes and Bible studies, especially among the youths.

Apart from church members and youth of Shaki, people from neighbouring villages and the friends of Avung from different places came to witness the concert, updates stated.
