Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio along with Minister for Health and Family Welfare S Pangnyu Phom, Minister for PWD Tongpang Ozukum and Advisor to Rural Development Dr. Neikiesalie Kire inspected the ongoing developmental works of Medical College at Phriebagei in Kohima on Saturday.

According to a DIPR report, after the inspection, Rio instructed the medical department to plant more “ingenious trees” in and around the area; and build retaining walls around the boundary.

“He also stressed on the importance of construction of well-planned drainages within the medical college. He instructed the consultants to come up with solution to the problem faced by them at the earliest, as no problem is unsolvable in this high-tech world. He urged the consultant and department officials to work overtime and complete work within the stipulated time,” it reported.

The chief minister further instructed the department to submit a full status report on the progress, achievement and technical hitches before the Niti Ayog meeting, which is likely to be held soon.

The consultant brief the visiting team about the various problems and technical difficulties and highlighted the issue of National Ground Level, for which they have to redesign the blueprint of the building structure.

Principal Secretary and Food Safety Commissioner Himato Zhimomi also assured the team that all necessary developmental works would be hastened in order to have a fully functional medical college very soon.
