Review on facility and community-based MCDSR held in Mokokchung

Dimapur, May 13 (EMN): The maternal child death surveillance review (MCDSR) and first quarter review meeting of Mokokchung district was held at the IDSP conference hall, IMDH on May 10. The resource persons for the event were Dr. Ademla Tinu (DGO) and Dr. Seyie (Paediatrician).

Dr Atemla Tinu highlighted the facility-based maternal death review (FBMDR) through power point presentation, “providing information about the cause of death and precautionary measures and guidelines of the community and health facility-level and levels of National policymaking to prevent similar causes of death in future,” an update from the CMO office stated.

Tinu also informed the gathering about the formation of facility-level committee and nodal officer for each facility, recordings of all maternal death including death of pregnant women in other wards of the Hospital and notification within 24 hours to district nodal officer and state nodal officer by the facility nodal officer.

Dr Seyie explained about the importance of reporting the death of all the children and necessary investigation thereof.

The programme officers and staff forwarded their grievances and achievements in the meeting. The CMO of the district, who chaired the meeting, appreciated all the doctors and staff for their hard work and encouraged them to improve.

The meeting was attended by CMO, Dy. CMO, MS, programme officers, MO’s NHM, NUHM, DAPCU and other staff.
