Dimapur, April 18 (EMN): The Rengma community youth group Rengma Selo Zi celebrated its 4th foundation day, on April 17 at Tsogin in Kohima district.
Representatives from Rengma villages besides village leaders and church leaders from Tsogin range attended the event, a press release from the organisation on Thursday informed. Pastor John Tep of Logwesonyu Baptist Church said the prayers seeking God’s blessings on the celebrations.
During its business hour, the Rengma Selo Zi reiterated its ‘unreserved support’ to the Rengma Hoho and its frontal organizations on the issue of upgrading Tseminyu subdivision to that of district headquarters.

‘The RSZ, while striving to achieve its aspiration for Tseminyu district, assured to extend its unflinching support to the lone elected representative of the Rengmas, R Khing, advisor to the government of Nagaland, to enable all round development in the 12th Tseminyu assembly constituency,’ the press release stated.

The group assured that it was ‘strongly committed to putting its best effort and taking up any assignment and action plan in delivering the aspirations of the people at any given time.’

The leaders of the organisation and youth representatives of Rengma villages appealed to the government of Nagaland to ‘consider and deliver on the genuine demand’ to make Tseminyu a district.

Also, the organisation appealed to government officers and staffers to be present at their posting places in order to ensure that the government offices at Tseminyu headquarters provide efficient services to the public, the press release stated.

Further, the Rengma Selo Zi has emphasised on the ‘need to strengthen the functioning of Tsogin’s extra assistant commissioner’s establishment.’

Another matter that the organisation noted was ongoing works to widen the highway along NH-61. ‘The Rengma Selo Zi shall continue to extend its support to the construction company for speedy completion of work but cautions that it shall ensure the execution of work as per specifications of the ministry of Road Transport and Highways,’ the press release stated.

While extending its cooperation, the press release added, the Rengma Selo Zi shall not tolerate or compromise with any substandard work.
