Dimapur, Jan. 21 (EMN): It appears like only another “bad light day” could save Nagaland from a defeat as Bihar stand comfortable on their huge first innings score of 509 runs (declared).
Resuming their first innings on the previous day’s score of 244 runs, Bihar declared their innings at 509 runs (for loss of seven wickets) on Tuesday, the third day of the four-day Test Ranji Trophy (2019-20) match against Nagaland at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima, Dimapur.

This was informed by Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) through an update on Tuesday.
Rahmat Ullah (106 runs) and Vikash (103 runs) scored centuries for Bihar, while Babul (95 runs), Rathour (81 runs), and Ashutosh (51 runs) scored half centuries. Leading Nagaland’s bowling attack was SS Mundhe, who took three wickets, while Nagaho, Imliwati, Hopongkyu and Tahmeed took a wicket apiece.

After being bowled out for just 166 runs in the first innings, Nagaland started their second innings on Tuesday. However, they were reeling at 65 runs for loss of two wickets in 17.1 overs before bad light stopped the match, like on Monday.
SS Mundhe scored 40 runs and Jonathan 16 for Nagaland, while Vivek took both the wickets for Bihar.

Nagaland are trailing by 278 runs, so it is to be seen if they can bat through the last day for a draw or concede defeat.

Col C K Nayudu Trophy
The NCA has informed through a separate update that Mizoram chose to bat first after winning the toss on the first day of the four-day Test against Nagaland in the Col C K Nayudu Trophy (2019-20) at Kandukuri Cricket Academy, Vizag, on Tuesday.

Mizoram were bowled out for 155 in 73 overs in their first innings. Asif (42 runs) and Lalhraitrenga (27 runs) were the main contributors for Mizoram, while A Yadav took seven wickets and Shamwang one for Nagaland.
Shamwang- 1 wicket

Nagalnd scored 50 runs for loss of three wickets (in 15 overs) in the first innings with Puchu scoring 26 runs and Nikhil 17 runs. Dika Ralte, Aditya and Lalruatfela took one wicket each for Mizoram.

Nagaland was trailing by 105 runs at stumps.
