Dimapur, Dec. 17 (EMN): Left-arm spinner Imliwati Lemtur produced yet another fine display of spin bowling to put Nagaland in command on the first day of a Ranji Trophy (Plate Group) match against Manipur at the Videocon Academy Ground in Kolkata.

Following his 13-wicket match haul in the previous game against Meghalaya, Lemtur took 7-25 on Tuesday to restrict Manipur to a first innings total of 116 all out, after the latter had opted to bat on winning the toss.

Captain KP Singh top-scored for Manipur with 44 runs from 108 balls.

Nagaland’s marquee signing, Stuart Binny contributed with two wickets including that of Singh. With the bat, he could add only nine of 18 balls before being dismissed.

Both the openers for Nagaland, Aosashi Longchar and Sedezhalie Rupero, were dismissed for ducks; Rupero was run out without even facing a ball.

Rongsen Jonathan, with a pacy 79 off 89 balls, and Shrikant Mundhe (unbeaten on 68 off 87 balls) stitched a partnership of 130 runs after coming together at 24/3 to provide the impetus to Nagaland’s charge towards a sizeable first innings lead.

At stumps, Nagaland were 193 for the loss of four wickets; a lead of 77 runs already.
