Dimapur, Dec. 1 (EMN): The group of striking government employees has expressed regret at what it stated was the cold attitude of the state government towards solving “the issue at hand.”

As part of its second and third phase of agitations, the protestors under the aegis of joint associations forum (JAF) will start availing 3-days mass casual leave from December 2; followed by “indefinite pen down, tools down and computers shutdown” from December 5.

On Sunday, the forum issued a press release stating that all of its constituent units have “reaffirmed their strong participation” in the ongoing agitation.

“The respective action committee shall pay a surprise visit to such offices having members of JAF and shall reprimand or take action as deemed fit on any erring members and he/she should be blamed for any failure in the fight for the common cause. There will be a monitoring cell located at Canssea building. Meeting of the action committee members shall be called for review of activities from time to time,” it stated.

It appealed to the HODs/DDOs/controlling officers as well as the citizens to bear with the inconveniences. “Any individual/group within or outside trying to derail the ongoing agitation of the JAF, consequences whatsoever shall be borne entirely by him/them,” it added.

The protesters are demanding the implementation of ROP recommendations submitted by the pay anomalies committee.
