Police issue new traffic regulations for NLA session

Dimapur, Jan. 16 (EMN): In view of the 5th session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) on January 17, the police have issued several traffic regulations to be enforced in Kohima town as part of security arrangements.

A press release from the office of the superintendent of Police, Kohima, informed that offending vehicles will be towed away and the owners will bear the charges.

According to the notice, parking by the roadside will be restricted from 6 am onwards during the assembly sessions in the following routes: BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; Raj Bhavan till M.S Classic Island; Classic Island to Tinpati via Razhü point; Tinpati to Billy Graham Road via Don Bosco junction; Tinpati to High School; and High School to New Secretariat via Sanouru bridge.

Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Kohima town during the assembly session from 6 am till the session is over, and such vehicles will not be allowed to park along ‘D’ Block road. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6 am in the morning during the period.

‘One way traffic via Sanouru for down vehicles going towards the Secretariat and vehicles coming towards town areas from secretariat are advised to take Billy Graham road,’ the press release stated.

It went on to inform that only vehicles with the following car passes will be allowed to enter the Assembly Secretariat:

  • ‘X’ (green letter with white background) for legislators
  • ‘Y’ (white letter with sky blue background) for AHoDs/HoDs
  • ‘Assembly Logo’ for Assembly staff
  • ‘LH’ (Black letter with White Background) for police personnel and P.S/P.A
  • ‘O’ (green letter with white background) for IPR/media and other department
  • ‘On assembly duty’ (white letter with red background) for staff bus/pool and dak vehicles.
