Kohima, Dec. 18 (EMN): Phek Basa Youth Organisation (PBYO) celebrated its golden jubilee at Phek Basa village on December 18 with the theme “Youth empowerment.”
Speaking during the occasion, the special guest and member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Kuzholuzo Nienu said jubilees are a ‘divine’ time to introspect the past and reconcile with friends, families, neighbours and even with enemies by not forgetting God.
“What is the use of all this jubilee if your attitude and behaviour remains the same?” Nienu questioned.
Nienu remarked, “We are truly living in a very disturbing world filled with momentary and worldly possessions and atmosphere wherein we have to wisely choose what is best for us.”
He challenged the gathering to change from within in order to make the world a better place to live in.
“Let us celebrate jubilee in its true spirits and senses,” he said.
Also stating that the past was a mixture of good and bad, the MLA said the good deeds should be remembered and cherished. Nevertheless, he said that the bitter past should not be recollected so as not to destroy a perfect future ahead.
Earlier, a blessings was pronounced by the senior pastor of Phek Basa Baptist Church Zhievesa Nienu, while the greeting was shared by the chairman of Phek Basa village council Razouhu Kezo and the welcome address was said by PBYO president Thenusa Venuh.
