Peace and harmony essential for progress, says minister

Dimapur, Dec. 18 (EMN): The minister of Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs, Neiba Kronu has appealed to community leaders to make wise decisions to promote peace and harmony in the community as they are essential for progress and development.

Kronu stated this at the general meeting of the Khezha/Kuzha Tephe Public Organisation (KKTPO) on December 16 at Pfutsero town. He congratulated the KKTPO team for successfully leading the public of the area and also appreciated them for taking crucial decisions for the community.

He reminded the gathering about the Chakhesang Public Organisation’s (CPO) resolutions on the conservation of Zanubu and Kepamodzu forests under Phek district. He called upon the leaders to intensify their efforts towards conservation of bio-diversity at Kepamodzu forest as all the KKTPO villages are in the Kepamodzu range.

He also reminded that their survival depends a lot on the conservation of its forest resources. While reminding the gathering that all the advanced nations of the world have their own share of problems, Kronu advised them not to be entangled with trivial issues that could hamper progress and development of the society.

Reiterating his commitment and determination to develop Pfutsero constituency into a model constituency in the state, Kronu exuded confidence that it could be made possible only when everyone works together. To achieve this, he said road connectivity, sports infrastructure, Agri link roads, development of tourism are vital. He also spoke on the scope of eco-tourism prospects in the area considering the beautiful landscapes and rich bio-diversity. Besides, he also spoke on the importance of creating home stay infrastructures in the villages to give rural homestay experience to the tourists.

While assuring the people about the possibility of developing Nagaland into a rich and prosperous state, Kronu stated that people need to work hard. He shared how small countries like Vietnam and Myanmar are transforming fast because of the hardworking culture of the people.

President of Tenyimia People’s Organisation (TPO) Timikha Koza, president of Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) Mikha Kenye and president of Kuzhalhu Zawe Neilo Khape delivered short speeches.

Welete Kapfo, convenor of KKTPO nomination committee, presented a new team of office-bearers led by Neikhwetso Mero as president which was approved by the house.
