Dimapur, Sep. 5: Minister for Health and Family Welfare S Pangnyu Phom has informed that there are 1,22,111 verified e-cards issued under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme in Nagaland as of July 31, 2019.

The number of families with e-cards is 52,166 (26%), he said during the fourth session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly in Kohima.

The scheme covers the medical and hospitalisation expenses for almost all secondary care and most of tertiary care procedures. According to reports, there are 59 hospitals under the scheme covering 2.3 lakh households in Nagaland. The scheme is said to provide a benefit of INR 5 lakh per family per year, and 1534 treatment packages have been provided.

Phom stated that out of INR 1.80 crore hospital claims submitted by various hospitals for providing free services to beneficiaries, INR 1.50 crore has been paid to the hospitals as of July 31, 2019. He informed that the claim payment delay (beyond 15 days within the state and 30 days out of the state) is at 2% only, which is overdue for want of additional verification documents from the hospitals.
