Oriental College students engage in experiential learning at Khuzama village, exploring indigenous culture, history, and craftsmanship.

DIMAPUR — The faculty and students from the departments of History, Sociology, and Tenyidie of Oriental College took part in “The Khuzama experience – walking the ancient path” on January 28.
According to an update, the programme was an enriching cultural and educational initiative that provided meaningful exposure to history and tradition through experiential learning as part of their academic curriculum.

The programme included a guided museum tour and visits to historical sites, offering insight into the heritage, lifestyle, and historical journey of the Khuzama people. Students also witnessed displays of traditional cultural songs and dances, which highlighted storytelling, identity, and communal values.
In addition, a cultural weaving session was conducted, during which students received hands-on experience from skilled artisans.
Altogether, 31 students participated in the exposure trip, accompanied by Tumben Ngullie, head of the History department; Khriezokuonuo Kire, assistant professor in the Sociology department; and Dziizienuo Yhome, assistant professor in the Tenyidie department.
