Organisations donate towards Covid-19

Dimapur, April 1 (EMN): Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio on Tuesday took to twitter to appreciate the staff of Land Resource department for contributing their one-day salary amounting to INR 5.50 lakh. Rio also thanked the Indian Red Cross Society and INRIS India for their contribution of INR 1 lakh and INR 5 lakh respectively towards the Chief Ministers Relief Fund (CMRF) for combating Covid-19.

In a related gesture, Sumi Christian Centre SBAK-Aizuto donated a sum of INR 50,000 to the district administration towards the Covid-19 relief fund. The amount was handed over to the deputy commissioner, Peter Lichamo by Rev. Dr. Daniel Chishi, pastor of ZTSBC, and Aketo Yeptho, youth leader ZTSBC, on March 31.

Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church (ZTSBC) also donated INR 1 lakh towards the fight against Covid-19. Dr. Rev. Daniel Chishi, pastor of ZTSBC, handed over the contribution to the deputy commissioner, Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo. Chishi was accompanied by Kihoto Zhimo, deacon chairman, and other deacons.

Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA) also donated a sum of INR 1 lakh to the deputy commissioner, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha on March 30.

Kiphire Town Ao Baptist Arogo (KTABA) also donated cash to the district task force (DTF), while the district executive force (DEF), Kiphire, distributed food grains and packets of salt to few families affected by the ongoing lockdown within the district.

The citizens of Kohima also donated a sum of INR 1.8 lakh to the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) on March 30.

Ao Senden has also donated INR 1 lakh to the deputy commissioner, Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir to assist the district administration in the fight against the spread of Covid-19 on March 31.
