Dimapur, Aug. 20 (EMN): DRDA project director, Thungdeno Mozhui, and the BDO, Wozhuro RD block, Chumthungo Khuvung, have launched the Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) in Wozhuro RD block under Wokha district on August 20 at Village Council Chairman and VDB Secretary conference hall, Wokha.
The Project Director, who is also DMM NSRLM, emphasised on the role of women in the development of the village. She also urged the village chairmen to perform their duties with diligence. She urged the community to work intensely as mission works are time bound.
She encouraged the gathering to visualise on “Back to land, Back to village.” She also urged the NSRLM staff to continue carrying out the good works, which had been so far commendable.
RD Wozhuro block is the 6th block in Wokha district to be launched NSRLM, Chumchamo R Ovung, Wozhuro RD block area coordinator, stated in an update on August 20.
ADPM Wokha, Samuel Kithan, delivered the keynote address, while Nzanbemo Patton, BPM Wokha, presented an overview of NSRLM at the national, state and district level in minute details. Lumbeni J Yanthan, BPM Wozhuro block, highlighted on CRP round plans and strategy, while case study was shared by Phyobeni Yanthan of Longaro SHG from New Changsu village.
All the village functionaries from the eleven villages including existing SHGs from the block attended the launching programme. The programme was chaired by Nongothung Tsanglao, area coordinator, while the welcome address was delivered by Chumchamo R Ovung, area coordinator, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Lochumbeni Humtsoe.
