Dimapur, March 25 (EMN): The election establishment of Nagaland has asked cellular service providers in the state to ensure that connectivity is smooth during the forthcoming polls.
Updates about a meeting the election authorities conducted with service providers stated that the latter were asked to ensure that their ‘networks are up, and remain good during the polls.’
The chief electoral officer (CEO) of Nagaland Abhijit Sinha held a meeting with officials of all the mobile service providers in the state. The meeting was conducted in his office chamber on March 25, a press release from the media cell of the election establishment stated on Monday.

Sinha requested the mobile service providers to “monitor the connectivity” throughout the state and take all measures to ‘improve it.’

Further, the press release stated, the service providers were ‘made aware of the poll date and particularly from 10th April onwards they were asked to ensure that the networks are up, and remain good during the poll duration.’

The officer was stated to have conveyed to them that webcasting and offline “videography” (sic) will be implemented in about 450 polling stations.

“He pointed out that for ensuring the success of webcasting connectivity issue has to be sorted out properly.
The service providers assured that they will take all the steps to improve connectivity, and at their own level ensure that there are no glitches anywhere,” the CEO’s updates stated.
