NCSA badminton tournament underway

Kohima, March 3 (EMN): The 2nd Badminton Tournament of Nagaland Civil Service Association (NCSA) got underway at the Indoor Stadium, Raj Bhavan Road, Kohima on Tuesday, March 3.
Commissioner and Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs Nagaland, Motsuthung Lotha, attended the occasion as the patron.
The two-day event is organised by the Nagaland Civil Service Association.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Lotha dwelled on the benefits of playing badminton, sating that the game relieves stress and has other health benefits.
He expressed that through badminton, ‘we learn about hard work as the game requires strength, endurance and mental capability’.
“Playing badminton does not have age bar because it is mostly to do with relaxation of our health”, he commented. He further stated that the event is very encouraging and is also a platform for meeting new friends.
He shared that badminton is a challenging game and requires basic skills but to achieve all this benefits requires lots of practice, determination and hard work.
A total of 22 teams in men’s doubles and six teams in mixed doubles are competing in the tournament.
