Dimapur, Feb. 27 (EMN): With a view to provide an outlet for the products and produce from Nagaland in the national capital, Nagaland chief secretary Temjen Toy launched ‘Naturally Nagaland’ at the Nagaland Sales Emporium in BKS Marg, New Delhi, on February 27.

Interacting with media persons, Temjen Toy stated that various departments have come together to provide a common outlet for Naga artisans to sale their products instead of only showcasing the Naga shawls, daos and other normal items. Toy stated that he happy to see many young Naga people are venturing into different vocations including the food products.

Naming a few of the special items available, he said kholar, honey, bamboo charcoal, dried fruits and also apparels and newly launched Naga fashion brand – Mongken are on sale.

He hoped that the emporium now would not only be a place for people to see the products of Nagaland but also buy them, an update from the publicity committee of ‘Naturally Nagaland’ stated on Thursday.

The venture is a collaborative effort of the Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA), Nagaland Bee Keeping and Honey Mission (NBHM), Nagaland Bio-resource Mission (NBM), Myki under Women Resource Development, Development of Under Developed Areas in partnership with Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation, a PSU under Government of Nagaland, stated principal secretary of Industries and Commerce department, Lithrongla G Chishi in her introductory remarks.

‘Naturally Nagaland’ would be the outlet for the products including handloom and handicraft, traditional motifs and agricultural produces and Naga food items from the state, she added.

She stated that through ‘Naturally Nagaland,’ the state government desired to provide a space to the Naga entrepreneurs to take their products beyond Nagaland, which was earlier not possible because of the state being landlocked. “It will provide the connect to the Naga entrepreneurs,” she stated.

Chairman of NHHDC Miathou Krose, mission director of NBDA Imtirenla Jamir, joint director of DUDA Anungla Phom, DRC Delhi Kethosituo Sekhose, managing director of NHHDC Zakabo V Rotokha, team leader of NBHM Khüvozoyi Vese along with other departments officials were present during the inauguration function.
