Nagas and non-Nagas should be united in peace and understanding, says Along

Dimapur, June 24 (EMN): BJP Nagaland unit president and minister for Higher and Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along has said that there is a need for the Nagas and non-Nagas living in the state to be united in peace and understanding.

He said this at the 9th felicitation programme of the Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj (NBS), Dimapur held at Durga Mandir Hall, on June 23 to felicitated 66 toppers and meritorious students of HSLC and HSSLC Examinations (three streams) 2019, informed an update from NBS PRO.

Along was the chief guest of the felicitation programme and Dimapur DC Kevekha Kevin Zehol was the special guest.

Congratulating the Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj for their contribution to the Naga society, Along stated that everyone should have the opportunity to grow, feel secured, and make progress in Nagaland. He added that he would like to see the Non-Nagas in the city, who are mostly business owners, in other sectors too.

The minister “advocated the need of cultural exchanges and asked the gathering not to remain boxed up in Dimapur alone but display their culture to other interior parts of the state too, and in a similar way, Nagas should also not remain in Nagaland only but take the Naga culture to other parts of the country,” according to the update. He also advised the students to have goals and patience, and asked them to talk about Nagaland and remember the state when they go outside.

Zehol and Working President of NBS Pramod Singh also spoke at the event, which was attended by members from various civil societies and NGOs.
