Nagaland wins two medals at Open Taekwondo Championship on day one

Dimapur, March 29 (EMN): The Nagaland Taekwondo team that is currently in Guwahati to participate in the Kimungyong Open Taekwondo Championship won two medals on Friday March 29. The championship, which started on  March 29, will conclude on March 30.

The team from Nagaland will participate in different categories at the DTRP indoor stadium in Guwahati, stated a press release on Friday.

State coach Peseyie has informed that two taekwondo players have secured a silver and bronze medal in sub-junior category on the first day.

Lungkan Phom secured a bronze medal in U-32 kg category and Manhei Konyak secured a silver medal in U-25 kg category.

Nagaland Taekwondo Association (NTA) has informed that a total of 17 member including 15 players from sports academy along with two officials, and two players from Jalukie club under Peren district will be taking part in Kyorugi in different age groups.

The team is led by Visabiu Peseyie, State Taekwondo Coach, Department of Youth Resources and Sports and Kenilevo Nagi as team manager.

The team taking part in sub-junior category (U-11) are Lensethong, Manong A. T. Konyak, Manhei Konyak, Lhuvosayi, Thongti Thonger, Lungkan Phom, and H.Wanghan Phom.

For cadet category (U-14) are Nnumhei, T. Kiutsu, and Hinglakpo.For junior category (U-17) are Neikhozo Naprantsu, Nahson Disuang, Repinkiu N Tikhir, Vilabizo Nagi, and Zakieneikho Peseyie.

For senior category (above -17 years) are Haihingsap Nriame and Keyinghigongbe.
