Nagaland wins Robot Olympiad trophy

Dimapur, Jan. 24 (EMN): Robotic team ‘Technical counter-strike’ (TCS) of Innovation Hub from Nagaland Science Centre (NSC) won the North East Zonal Robot Olympiad 2020 held at the Regional Science Centre, Guwahati, Assam, on January 21.

A press release issued by Vikuovotuo Zhale, junior mentor of Nagaland Science Centre, stated that TCS team comprising Cheyoun K Thai of Class X from St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Padumpukhuri, and Shubham Kumar of Class IX from Little Star Higher Secondary School, Midland, displayed an impressive skill set of calculated risk and technical ability to outdo the former winner Innovation Hub: Assam Team 1 (one).

Chief mentor of Innovation Hub, NSC, led two teams representing the state. The other Robotic team ‘Technical knock-out (TKO) members Karan Kumar Sharma of Class X and MD Oliulla Laskar of Class IX, both from Zakiesato Memorial Higher Secondary School, just missed the edge to bag a medal. Innovation hub Assam Team 1 (One) bagged the 1st runner-up, while AP Girls Arunachal Team 1 (One) bagged the 2nd runner-up.

Altogether, 13 teams participated at the Robot Olympiad representing their respective states.

Achintya Saha, CEO of Technomate Edubotics Pvt. Ltd., was the special guest and judge at the event. The winners and the participants were awarded trophies and certificates by Basudev Mandal, project coordinator of Regional Science Centre.

The next event World Robotic Olympiad (WRO) would be held at the Regional Science Centre, Guwahati, Assam, in the month of August.
