Nagaland police review law and order for elections

Dimapur, Feb. 10 (EMN): The Nagaland Police convened a meeting of all its unit commanders at Chumukedima, on February 8, to review the law and order situation in all the districts and preparations that are on for the forthcoming elections.
The police establishment also discussed various issues concerning border issues; the Free Movement Regime; and crime across the districts; and traffic management in Dimapur, updates on Sunday stated.
The state’s director general of police T John Longkumer, along with other senior officers from the police headquarters, and all district superintendents of police and commandants of units were among those who attended the meeting, a press release from the police establishment informed on Sunday.

“The meeting reviewed the law and order of all the districts and the preparations in view of the upcoming elections. The meeting also witnessed presentations on various topics by the senior officers and discussions held on the current law and order situation; border issues, Free Movement Regime; crime across various districts; Traffic management of Dimapur, etc.” the press release stated.

In the evening session of the conference, a training programme for police officers and unit election nodal officers was conducted, the press release stated.

The training was conducted by the office of the chief election officer and their team. Abihijit Sinha, the chief election officer of Nagaland delivered a presentation to the police officers, on the various duties and roles expected to be performed by the police personnel.
“The meeting concluded with a resolve by all to contribute and do their best to ensure a smooth and successful upcoming parliamentary election,” the press release stated.
