Dimapur, July 8 (EMN): The Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) now houses a District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) with basic facilities to conduct tests for hearing, vision, behavioural assessments, etc., for children within the targeted group of 0 to 18 years.

Informing this through a press release issued on Monday, the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Diethono Nakhro said that assessments would be free of cost while aid for secondary and tertiary care at the empanelled hospitals will be as per Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) model costing.

“RBSK is an innovative and ambitious initiative which envisages Child Health Screening and Early Intervention Services, a systemic approach of early identification of medical conditions and link to care, support and treatment. The objective is early identification and early intervention for children from birth to 18 years to cover four ‘D’s—Defects at birth, Diseases in children, Deficiency conditions and Developmental delays including Disabilities,” it stated.
