DIMAPUR — Moderate to isolated heavy rainfall is likely over several northeastern states, including Nagaland over the next five days, according to an update from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
While light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall activity is very likely over Assam and Meghalaya on September 2 and 3, similar activity is expected in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura stated from August 31 to September 4, forecast IMD.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]It went on to predict that light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over most parts of the East and Northeast India, while scattered to fairly wide spread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall is likely over some parts of south Peninsular India during the week.
Overall, rainfall activity is likely to be normal to above normal over the Northeast, East and adjoining Central India; near normal over most parts of south Peninsular India (except Maharashtra) and below normal over the rest of the country during the week, it updated.
