Nagaland: ICFAI University undertakes cleanliness drive
Dimapur, Aug. 16 (EMN): As part of nation-wide Swachhta Pakhwada campaign, NSS unit of ICFAI University Nagaland conducted a cleanliness drive on August 14.
The campaign was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Imtinungsang Jamir, Programme Office of IUN unit, as per the directive of Directorate of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland.
Dr. Imtinungsang Jamir stated that the purpose of observing Swachhta Pakhwada (Clean India) was to promote cleanliness. The campaign was conducted with the motive promote clean and green environment in each and every part of society.
The cleanliness drive was organised in its adopted village Sovima by conducting activities such as cleanliness drive, tree plantation to make the local masses understand about the dignity of labour and to spread awareness on sanitation practices.
Altogether, 55 NSS volunteers participated in the cleanliness drive at adjoining areas of university campus and Sovima village.
