Nagaland: I-Day traffic advisory for Kohima

Dimapur, Aug. 12 (EMN): Kohima police on Monday announced traffic regulations in the state capital in view of the Independence Day celebration on August 15.

Only those vehicles possessing car passes ‘Z’ (Red) and ‘Y’ (Blue) would be allowed to enter the Secretariat Plaza. Vehicles with car pass ‘X’ (Green) would drop their respective officers at the main gate and should be parked outside the Secretariat Complex.

Parking outside the main gate of the Secretariat Plaza will be free for members of the public.

No vehicles, including two-wheelers, would be allowed to park at the roadside  from 6 am on August 15, at the following routes:

  • From BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island.
  • From Raj Bhavan till MS Classic Island.
  • From Classic Island to Tinpati via Razhü point.
  • Tinpati to Billy Graham Road via Don Bosco Junction.

Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply from Tinpati Junction to Assembly Secretariat via Don Bosco Junction. All heavy vehicles including government department buses have been directed to take the Tinpati-High School-Meriema-Secretariat road, and vice versa.

Also, during Assembly Session, heavy vehicles would not be allowed to ply in Kohima town from 6 am till the session is over, it informed. Loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6 am during Assembly Session. Heavy vehicles would not be allowed to park along ‘D’ Block road.

Defaulting vehicles would be towed away, and the owners penalised, it warned.
