Dimapur, March 31 (EMN):
Even as reports emerged that some persons from Nagaland had either attended or was in the vicinity of the religious congregation of Tablighi Jamaat at Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi recently, the department of Health and Family Welfare has began the process of tracking them down.

An official from the department informed Eastern Mirror that most of those persons from Nagaland ‘live outside and there is a possibility that they have not returned to the state yet’.

“We are trying all possible and necessary procedures as the congregation did not maintain the list of attendees; the team in Delhi had compiled the names and sent us,” said the official, adding that they are treating it ‘as the highest priority’.

According to reports, six persons from Nagaland had either attended or were in the vicinity of the congregation: two each from Dimapur and Zunheboto; and one each from Wokha and Tuensang.

A reliable source from Tuensang informed that the family of the person from Tuensang was contacted and have confirmed that the person is still in New Delhi.

“We are trying to get more information from the person regarding other Nagas that attended the congregation but the person denied attending the gathering,” said the source and added that further investigation is in process with the help of district administration.

An official from the department informed that both the persons from Dimapur have been tracked and kept in isolation. There were no symptoms of Covid-19 yet, it was informed.

The person from Wokha is still in Delhi, the official added.
