Nagaland: Dimapur Rotary Club welcomes cyclists

Dimapur, Sep. 20 (EMN): Rotary Club of Dimapur welcomed two Rotarian cyclists namely Fayiz KV and Rajith KK from Rotary International District 3202 (Kerala) on their arrival at Dimapur on September 19. The cyclists were received by the club members led by its president Ashok Agarwal.

The two Rotarians are members of International Cycle Riders from Malabar Cycle Club. They have embarked on their journey from Calicut on August 10 and would reach Singapore via Myanmar, Thailand covering seven countries with a distance of 8000+ kms in 120 days. They have embarked on the mission to propagate Rotary International theme of Mark Maloney for this year “Rotary connects the world.”

Sharing their experiences with the club members during a meeting, the duo remarked, “Till now have covered a distance of 3800+ kms and came across mountainous terrain, rough roads, interacted with people of different cultures, multiple languages of various religion, making it more adventures.” They added that the hospitality shown by the Rotary family during the journey has been enriching.”

Rotary Club of Dimapur had a flag exchange and felicitation programme and wished them a safe journey as they proceed towards Kohima on September 20. This was stated in a press release issued by Ashok Kumar Agarwal, president of Rotary Club of Dimapur.
