Naga Students’ Federation serves ultimatum to Nagaland state government
Dimapur, Aug. 21 (EMN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has served an ultimatum to the government of Nagaland after its demand for setting up of committee for implementation of the Staff Selection Board (SSB) fell on deaf ears.
The federation said in a letter addressed to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio that it had submitted a memorandum to the state government on June 11 to set up SSB within two months but it has not received any official communication despite the deadline having lapsed on August 12.
Now, the Naga students’ apex body has issued an ultimatum to the state government along with a charter of demands:
* Issue notification banning all recruitments to ‘group C’ posts until the implementation of SSB by the state government.
* Issue notification for scrapping down of departmental exams for recruitment to ‘group c’ posts.
* Setting up of SSB and that all existing vacancies be filled through open examination.
The NSF has asked the government to fulfil its demands with one month, failing which, it warned that it will be “compelled to take up befitting actions in the interest of the students’ community of the state.”
