Dimapur, Sep. 19 (EMN): The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) peer team from Bengaluru visited Pfutsero Government College (PGC) on September 17 and 18 to assess the college for validation and verification of the Self Study Report (SSR) which was earlier submitted to the NAAC office.
The peer team was headed by its chairman Dr. Mohd Muzammil, former Vice Chancellor of Agra University and MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, UP, along with member co-ordinator Prof. Dr. Debarshi Nath, Department of Cultural Studies, Tezpur University, Napaam, Assam, and member Dr. J Zorema, principal of Government J Buana College, Lunglei, Mizoram.
On the first day of the visit, the team interacted with the PGC principal Dr. Moanochet Longchar, IQAC Co-ordinator Neichupe Kapfo, followed with a series of presentations and interactions with the HoDs of different departments of the college. The team also interacted with various committees and cells of the college.
The peer team also had interaction with representatives from Higher Education department headed by the Additional Director and HoD Dr. Apeni along with four other officials, Deputy Commissioner, Phek, ADC Pfutsero, University representative Prof. Dr. NDR Chandra, department of English, NU, and OSD to the minister of Higher and Technical department and Tribal affairs during the luncheon.
The team also visited the library, museum, NSS and RUSA offices etc and later interacted with the students, alumni and parents. Verification of documents and interaction with the non-teaching staff was also conducted.
On the second day, the team conducted physical verification of various facilities of the college and reviewed the best practices adopted by the college.
At the exit meeting, PGC principal delivered a welcome speech. NAAC peer team chairman also delivered a speech and handed over the peer team report to the principal. The vote of thanks was tendered by IQAC co-ordinator.
