Mokokchung Dobashis urged to digitise old archive

Mokokchung, August 2 (EMN): Principal district & session judge, Tuensang, Mayang Lima, urged the Mokokchung district Dobashis to digitised all old archive, manuscripts, accords sign between different entities.
Speaking at inaugural programme of the Mokokchung District Dobashi Heritage Welfare Society library, as a chief guest, he said digitisation would benefit scholars, researchers and also for future generation for references.
3The judge also expressed his hope that the library would serve the people as a window of knowledge especially the young generation to learn the age old forefather’s customary law and practices. Lima further urged the gathering to practice the custom of the land which strengthened unity among the people.1
Senior administrative officer law & justice, A Chuba Ozukum, informed that the government is planning to set up all courts with IT facility and slowly convert it into an e-court system.
The Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel, who also spoke at the event, encouraged the Dobashis to use the library aa reference center to enlightened them on how their predecessor had deposed critical cases during their era.
Some rare collection of books was also donated by Tali Imsong during the programme while dedicatory was offered by N Sobu pastor of Mokokchung Baptist Church.
Meanwhile, Mokokchung District Dobashis appealed the authors to donate books to the newly inaugurated library.
The Mokokchung District Dobashi Heritage Welfare Society library which was inaugurated near DC office, Mokokchung, bears a large collection of books that includes volume of Nagaland Code, Indian Constitution, Code of Civil and Criminal procedure, Ao Customary law and practices related books and different books related to Naga tradition and Custom authored by both Nagas and others.
One of the Dobashis also informed that xeror machine is also available for interested persons who need copies of a certain book for references.
