Mizoram CM arrives in Manipur for Zo Kutpui festival

Imphal, Feb. 11 (EMN):
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga has arrived in Manipur’s Churachanpur district headquarters, about 65 km south of Imphal to attend Zo Kutpui 2020, a festival.

The 2-day festival which will conclude on February 12 at Kawnpui village in Churachandpur, is jointly organised by Zo Kutpui organising committee, Manipur and Tourism department government of Mizoram.

Soon after arrival at the Bir Tikendrajit International airport in Imphal, the visiting Mizoram chief minister accompanied by Minister of state, sports & youth Services, tourism & information and communication technology Robert Romawia Royte drove straight to Churachandpur town and stayed the night at the BSF’s Subsidiary Training Centre. They will attend the main event today, according to sources from the hill town.

The Zo Kutpui festival which attempts to bridge the gap amongst the Zo descendants and brought them closer, according to news reports quoting organisers, was organised under the theme ‘We are One.’ The first edition of the festival was held in Tripura.
