Eastern Mirror Desk
Dimapur, July 30: A 25-year-old Naga youth, Vangba Phom, who had gone missing on July 20, was found at Huda City Centre metro station, Gurugram on July 29.
The president of the Naga Student’s Union Delhi Hinoto Awomi informed Eastern Mirror that a local youth, by the name Aryan from Gurugram, saw Phom at the metro station and approached him. Awomi informed that Aryan had many Naga friends and had heard about the missing youth through them.
Phom was able to provide Aryan with his father’s phone number. Thereafter, the father contacted the student union.
Awomi further informed that a Naga youth had helped in tracking Phom’s phone days before, which helped ascertain that he was in the vicinity. “Fifty to sixty Naga volunteers from different bodies tirelessly searched for Vangba around Huda City Centre and now he has finally been located,” said Awomi.
On July 20, Phom had reportedly gone shopping with his roommate and on the pretext of going to buy cold drinks, ran away. Phom later told that he ran away because of mistreatment from his roommate, said Awomi.
After medical examination, he will be taken to Nagaland House, New Delhi, Awomi added.
