Mokokchung, Oct. 10 (EMN): Kumlong SA fought back to settle for a 3-3 draw with Hills XI FC while Zonipang SA thrashed NUSU FT 5-0 in their respective games played on Thursday in the ongoing MDFA Trophy 2019 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex.
Midfielder Bendangsunep’s brilliant strike fished out Kumlong SA from defeat in the last three minutes of stoppage time when Hills XI FC was leading 3-2 in the second half.
Initially, Kumlong took the lead after midfielder Sentilemzung scored 6th minute into the game and defender Imtinuksung added one more in the 12th minute but Rongsenchiba of Hills XI scored in the 31st minute to make the score line 2-1 in favour Kumlong in the first half.
Shortly into the second half, Hills XI found an equaliser from the boots of Aoyanger in the 45th minute before Temsuyanger added one more by scoring in the 50th minute.
However, Bendangsunep scored for Kumlong just three minutes before the final whistle and levelled the score 3-3.
Rongsenchiba of Hills XI was given a yellow card during the match.
In the second match of the day, Risto Mero of Zonipang scored a hat-trick while Suponglemba and Sujimong scored a goal each against NUSU FT to seal the game for their team.
Zonipang were completely in control of the game from the start, scoring three goals in the half time. Risto Mero scored in the 16th, 29th and 44th minutes while Suponglemba scored in the 19th minute and Sujimong Sujimong in the 59th minute.
