Master Shield Trophy: Vincent thrash Time Team by 172 runs

Mokokchung, Feb. 10 (EMN): Vijay’s century helped defending champion Vincent win by a huge margin of 172 runs against Time Team in the first day of the 4th Master Shield Trophy at Imkongmeren Sports Complex in Mokokchung on Monday, February 10.
Electing to bat first, Vijay scored 100 runs in 55 balls for Vincent and secured the first century in the tournament. N Ripen also scored 46 runs for Vincent. Senlen of Time Team took three wickets.
Vincent completed the innings with a total score of 253 runs for the loss of five wickets.
In the second innings, Time Team were completed caught off guard by Vincent and were bowled out for just 81 runs in 18.5 overs. Wapang and Sunil of Vincent took three wickets each in the second innings.
Vincent won the match by a huge run margin of 172 runs and Vijay was adjudged as the man of the match. Earlier, the Master Shield Trophy inaugural programme was attended by Roben Masen, Regional Transport Officer Mokokchung as the chief match patron.
