Manipur launches 7th Economic Census in five districts

Imphal,Sep. 9 (EMN): The deputy commissioners of Churachandpur, Kangpokpi,Kamjong, Pherzawl and Senapati districts launched the 7th Economic Census at their respective districts in Manipur on Monday.

Launching the programme, DC Somorjit Salam of Senapati appealed all the stakeholders to take part in the programme and extend maximum cooperation to the enumerators so that the data collected served its purposes meaningfully.

Urging the enumerators to collect data correctly, DC cautioned that negligence should not affect the future of the economically weak categories.

Similiarly, DC Pawan Yadav of Churachandpur, Kangoo Zuringla of Kamjong Mannuamching of Pherzawl launched the programme at their respective district offices,

DC Lalithambigai K of Kangpokpi a urged the village authorities and people to give full cooperation with the officials for smooth conduct of the census.

She also advised the enumerators and supervisors to be in touch with the district administration for any clarification during the census.

Similarly DC and DC district launched the economic census at located at DTC campus, Tuibong near Churachandpur town and camp office Imphal today, according to DIPRĀ  informed.

A total of 249 enumerators, 53 level-1 supervisors and one level-2 supervisor will conduct the census in Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts.

It may be noted that all households engaged in non-agricultural economic activities including construction, except public administration, defence and compulsory social security are proposed to be covered in the 7th Economic census.
