LiveNow Events is getting ready to present its second edition of Dimapur Music Festival (DMF) to be held on Sep. 20 and the 21nd at Urban Haat in Dimapur. The second edition of the DMF powered by TaFMA comes back after a break of a year and the organising team calls it ‘The Happy Fest’. This was informed at a press conference held at Hotel Saramati in Dimapur on Sep. 18.

Addressing the reporters, one of the members of LiveNow Events Menuolhoulie Kire said that there had been certain voice raised and a need for music festival where the much anticipated DMF would create a platform and an environment for the people to come and enjoy music.

“The festival is not just about LiveNow Events but for the city as there is a need of space in the city where people of all ages can come together and enjoy the talents of our Naga musicians”, Kire said while updating that the festival will be an annual event.

The second edition of the DMF aims to promote local bands and artists, to give wings to their dream and to break free from the old norm of restricting to just a few platforms.

The entry tickets are priced at INR 200 and INR 1500 (Happiness pass with perks of entry for two and one car pass inclusive for two days).

LiveNow Events Secretary Burakum Ao updated that the two-day music festival  will witness eight bands on the first day – The Paradigm Shift, Since 90’s, Jam Tree, Avancer, Papersky, Chicken Head, Moko Koza and DJ Ina along with a band from Christian Higher Sec. School who were adjudged as the 2nd runners up during the recently concluded inter-school beat competition 2019 organised by Hope Academy.

The second night of the event will witness the performance of seven bands namely Tokaholi, The Teaspoon Project, Trance Effect, Purple Fusion, Run Monday Run, Ronnie and DJ Aloza.

DJ Aloza, according to the organisers, is the first certified Naga female DJ.

Burakum Ao said that the second day of the music festival will witness female artists taking the stage.

Adding colour to the festival, the stage is set for new look as the event will showcase the male front man on the first night and female front on the second night where all the bands will be performing their originals.

Infinity Inc CEO Asalie Peseyie opined that with TaFMA things are getting streamlined and there has been a paradigm shift in the music industry; keeping in mind that artists should also find a way for themselves to be discovered through their talent and effort instead of waiting for the government or TaFMA to do something for them.

The front man of Avancer band Opang Jamir shared that he was excited to be performing for the first time in the state and experience home crowd. He was also critical of the fact that the audience need to support the originals of the musicians and not just be flattered by cover songs.  A member of The Paradigm Shift band Chechamo Odyuo had a similar opinion as he sought support from the music lovers for originals.

Trance Effect vocalist Luli Yeptho pointed out that Dimapur audience was ‘not as warm as Kohima’ and that she was anticipating a huge turnout to prove her wrong.

The gate for the ‘Happiness Fest’ will be opened at 4 pm and the tickets will be available at the venue. Also, tickets are available online at bookurevent.com.
