Bhopal, June 24 (PTI): The monsoon session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly is likely to be a stormy one as it will be the last before the state polls scheduled for later this year.
The Opposition Congress has submitted a no-confidence motion against the state government over what the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Ajay Singh, called all-round failure of the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government.
“The Congress Legislative party has submitted a no- confidence motion against the ruling regime. In the last 15- years, the state government has failed on every front and people are facing problems. This motion is a manifestation of their feelings,” Singh said.

He said that the Congress, during the session, would demand answers from the government on issues like corruption, the plight of farmers, unemployment and non-implementation of promises made by the MP CM.

Assembly Speaker Sitasharan Sharma, however, said that a decision on the no-confidence motion would be taken after examining whether it is in keeping with the rules.

AP Singh, Principal Secretary, Vidhan Sabha, said that MLAs have submitted 1,376 questions besides 236 calling attention motions for this session that will last for five days. Three adjournment motions and 17 non-government resolutions have also been submitted, he informed. Singh added that as many as 17 government bills would be discussed during this session, which would end on June 2
