Kohima police recover drugs

Dimapur, Aug. 21 (EMN): Kohima police personnel manning the Khuzama inter-state police check gate recovered an approximate six kgs of suspected opium (powder form) and 250 packets (each containing 180 nos.) of WY tablets during routine checking of vehicles on August 21.
According to police report, the contraband drugs were recovered concealed underneath the driver’s seat of a truck bearing registration No. AS11 AC-7732 proceeding towards Dimapur from Manipur.

Accordingly, the driver of the vehicle identified as Arbas Khan (19) of Usoipokpi village under Thoubal district in Manipur was arrested. A regular case under NDPS Act has been registered for further investigation, the report stated. The seized opium along with the tablets are estimated to be worth INR 1.5 crore in the international market.
