IT was the day for Kelesal Pucho (32) to score all the four goals as his team Status Quo Football Club knocked visiting team from Imphal – Koubru Football Club by 4-1 on the penultimate day of the second-round matches of the 20th Classic Cup 2014 at Kohima Local Ground.
Playing the last match of the day, it was the visitors Koubru scoring an early score against the home team through Rakesh Singh. However, Status Quo returned to the game within no time with Kelesal Pucho scoring the equalizer and the first half of the match ended in 1-1 draw.
However, returning into the second half, it was Kelesal after missing some sure goal opportunities leading his team into the pre-quarter finals with three more goals and sending back the visitors.
The four goals is his second-hat-trick of the tournament to presently place in the top scorer with seven goals.
Earlier, the first match between 4th NAP FC and Twenty14 FC was closely fought, wherein the former won the match by 3-1 via tie-breaker as the stipulated 70 minutes ended in 1-1 draw.
4th NAP scored first through Tsupongtsuba Ao while the equalizer for Twenty14 was netted by Mhasi Solo ending the match in draw. However, in the tie-breaker 4th NAP managed to score three while Twenty14 scored on one.
Orion FC humiliated Junior Anchor by a huge 8-0 in the third match with Chisie Nyosou scoring a hat-trick through his first, third and fourth goals. Vimele Chasie scored the second; Ketho contributed two goals as fifth and seventh; Zakiebeituo scored the sixth while Khrüzovoyi sealed the score board with the eighth.
In the third match of the day, Addax Club defeated Young Boys FC by 2-0 with Sedevilie and Dietho scoring one each.
