INR 50 cr. for construction of roads in district capitals — Patton

Kohima, Aug. 9 (EMN): On the final day of the fourth session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, details of money sanctioned and received for various projects were shared by ministers of the respective department.

District capital roads

Deputy Chief Minister, also Minister of Roads and Bridges, Y Patton informed that in 2018-19, an amount of INR 50 crore was sanctioned for construction of roads in all the district capitals.

Additional sanctions were also released for Kohima and Dimapur amounting to INR 59.60 crore for 62.5 km, and INR 59.90 crore for 34 km respectively. No amount was sanctioned for the improvement of roads in sub-divisional headquarters.

The district headquarters maintenance fund allocation during 2018-19 for Dimapur was INR 650 lakh; INR 960 lakh for Kohima; nearly INR 2200 lakh for the rest of the districts.

Special Plan Assistance

Against the backlog of INR 863.94 crore, the state government recieved INR 226.80 crore during 2018-19 under the SPA.

The amount was sub-allocated to various departments, according to the Minister of Planning and Coordination Neiba Kronu.

Projects undertaken were: construction of 20 MVA 66/11 KV S/S at Sovima with associated transmission line, Tsutsubg HEP in Mokokchung, construction of additional 25 MVA 132/33 at S/S Kohima, directorate of School Education phase 2, establishment of state Sericulture Farmers Training Centre in Dimapur, 13th IR battalion in Yajang Mokokchung, 12th IR battalion in Longleng, 10th NAP battalion headquarters in Zhadima and installation of Astro turf at IG stadium Kohima.

Sub Mission on Agricultural Mechanisation

Minister of Agriculture and Cooperation G Kaito Aye informed that the amount sanctioned under Sub Mission on Agricultural Mechanisation (SMAM) was INR 16,66,67,000.

Aye informed that as the amount was received only in July 2019, the selection of beneficiaries at district and sub divisional level was still in process.
