IIHMR hosts career guidance in health courses

Dimapur, Feb. 17 (EMN):
The Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) at Bangalore led by its director Dr. Usha Manjunath organised a career and healthcare course counselling programmes from February 14 to the 16th in five colleges in Dimapur.

Highlighting the programmes during a press conference at the Grand Tizu on Sunday, Manjunath informed that the team visited five colleges in Dimapur during the three-day programme. The institutions are the Christian Institute of Health Science and Research, Patkai Christian College, St. John College, Dimapur Government College, and Tetso College. The event included lecturers, with more than 150 students participating, it was informed.

Speaking to the media persons, Manjunath expressed optimism that after the programme in the colleges, a good number of students were now potentially well-equipped with knowledge about managements aspects besides learning about the scope in various professional sectors.

Further, stating that a large number of students from the north-eastern states are studying at the IIHMR, she expressed optimism that more students would now come up to take the programmes to explore what management and hospitality services have to offer.

Manjunath informed that the team gave various discourses on PGDM, designed with a focus on management capacity building, and to cultivate students’ health management skills. That way, they will be well-prepared to enhance their effectiveness and provide efficient hospital services and health programmes.

The director said that the team, while mainly focusing on the students, also had an interactive session with teachers and faculties of various colleges. She said that the team received positive feedbacks from the students and the institutes.

Manjunath said that she along with her team will be keeping the students in Nagaland regularly informed about the courses concerning different courses provided by the IIHMR.

She added that the team looks forward to conducting educational fairs and programmes in Nagaland in the days to come.
