Hope Academy reminds about the story of love that is Christmas
Dimapur, Dec. 22 (EMN): Students of Hope Academy in Dimapur staged a play of Charles Dickens’ 1843 novel ‘A Christmas Carol,’ on December 17 during the school’s annual day.
The highlight of the event was a beautiful rendition of ‘A Christmas Carol,’ revolving around the life of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly and grumpy elderly man. The students of the academy portrayed the journey of Scrooge, who hated Christmas and had no friends in his life. He was a loner but that changed when the ghost of his best friend Jacob Marley pays him a visit one night.
As the classic novel goes, Christmas ghosts visit Scrooge and give him a glimpse of his past, present and future life; they show him how his life was, how it is now, and how it will be if he goes in the same path.
Scrooge sees what he had missed and how he had hurt people all his life. This realisation transforms him into a better human who is kind, gentle and generous to everyone.
The classic novel was brought to life with an amazing performance by the academy’s child actors, a synchronised choir, and a vintage set. It was a perfect treat to the Christmas season, a time when people embrace one another with love, kindness, and happiness.
