Health minister flags off ‘Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara’ rally

Imphal,Sep. 15 (EMN): Manipur Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar Singh flagged the “Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara,” a rally to mark the completion of one-year of “Ayushman Bharat” on Sunday in Imphal.

Starting from western gate of Kangla, the rally continued to JNIMS, a state run hospital at Poromopat in Imphal east district, where a function was organised.

The rally was also joined by chief executive officer of State Health Agency Ravindra Singh, Health department Director Dr. K Rajo Singh, Joint Director Rang Peter and Additional Director Dr. Shyamsunder Singh, JNIMS Director Dr. Th Bhimo Singh, and State Programe Manager of National Health Mission Y Rajiv Singh.

Before flagging off the rally,  Health minister told the reporters that the rally was organised to mark the completion of one year of Ayushman Bharat which was initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He maintained that such rally will help to highlight the health schemes introduced by the government.

Stating that the direction of health service and its system has been changed towards a new course, the minister said health service is no longer limited to the treatment or medication of a sick person.

The new concept of health service includes wellness of the people, he said adding that it aims to let the people live a healthier and happy.

Many welfare schemes of the people have been covered under the new health policy of the government, the minister said.

Singh also said that the government has introduced many health schemes with the objective to maintain hygiene of the people covering right from childhood to adult.

District Early Intervention Centre, DEICs and Geriatric Centre have been opened at many hospitals including sub-divisional hospitals with the aim to provide health care and preventive care service to the newly born children and aged adults, he informed.

He urged the medical personnel to maintain professional ethics and build good relation with the public.

Officials and staff from health and National Health Mission,Manipur, Doctors, Nurses, medical and nursing students also participated in the rally.
