Dimapur, Aug. 22 (EMN): House of Friendship (HOF)-a home for old people, in association with Rotary Club of Dimapur and Inner Wheel Club Dimapur commemorated the ‘World Senior Citizens Day’ on August 21 at HOF, Dimapur.
The programme was graced by Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol and attended by more than 125 elderly people.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner expressed gratitude to the senior citizens and stated that the present generation would always remember their immense contributions in shaping the destiny of the society. He also honoured the veterans on behalf of the organisers.
A specialised free health check-up for senior citizens was also conducted by a team of five doctors comprising of general physicians, ENT, ophthalmologist and dentist. Medicines were also distributed to the patients without any charge.
