Health camp diagnoses 57 children with congenital heart disease

Kohima, Feb.19 (EMN): A total of 107 children of the 0-18 years of age availed free heart
OPD and screening camp organised by the National Health Mission of Nagaland.
Out of the total number of 107 children who were screened, 57 were diagnosed with congenital heart diseases. This was informed to media persons by the state’s nodal officer of school health and adolescent health from the directorate of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Khriesi Sachu.
The two-day, February 18 to the 19th, screening camp was conducted in collaboration with the Manipur Heart Foundation and Sky Hospital & Research Centre Imphal Pvt.ltd. at the Naga Hospital Authority in Kohima (NHAK).
The official informed that patients from different districts availed free heart screening services during the camp.
Sachu said health camps were held simultaneously in Dimapur and Mokokchung.
He said the cases that were detected will be sent to Sky Hospital for management and treatment as per the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram model of cost and packages.
