Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): Headhunters beat Vungotchu FC 4-0 in the finals of the 9th Lotha Football Championship, organised by the Wokha District Football Association at the Wokha local ground on Saturday.

Chingsha and Pete scored two goals apiece to help Headhunters lift the LFC trophy.

The winners walked away with a cash award of INR 1 lakh along with running trophy, medals and certificates. The third and fourth runners-up were awarded INR 30000 and INR 20000 respectively, while the four losing quarter finalists received INR 5000 each.

Besides, six individual prizes were given which included cash award of INR 3000 each along with trophies and certificates. Haotinmang of headhunter was adjudged the Player of the tournament; Chingsha who scored 11 goals was declared the highest scorer of the tournament. Meribemo of Vungotchu FC bagged the best goal keeper award while Benri of Vungotchu FC and Sulanthung of Mt.Morashen were declared the best defender and best midfielder.

Saronbemo of Forest FC bagged the Best up-coming player award. SP XI was declared the Best Disciplined team.

The finals match was attended by Director, Urban Development Zanbemo Ngullie as the special guest. He also handed the trophies and other awards to the champions of the 9th LFC.
