Governor goes on maiden visit to Tuensang

Dimapur, Dec. 17 (EMN): Nagaland Governor RN Ravi has stressed on the importance of quality education and to check the ‘drop out’ menace, even as he voiced concern about the issue of shortage of science and mathematics teachers.

Ravi said this while interacting with students of St. John higher secondary school in Tuensang town on the first day of his maiden visit to Tuensang district on December 17, an update from the Information and Public Relations departments stated on Tuesday.Ravi lauded the school for their contribution in education and making it grow despite Tuensang being located in a remote area. He exhorted the students to study hard and to dream big besides urging them to invest for a brighter future. He added that the health and education sectors need to be checked and improved further.

On the deplorable condition of the roads in the district, Ravi stated that the road sector is of priority and expressed hope to improve it soon.
The governor held interactions with major tribal bodies and community organisations at the officers’ mess of the 7th sector Assam Rifles in Tuensang. He held meetings also with the district’s administration, security agencies and heads of the district, updates stated.
