Gorkha Baptist hosts singing competition

Dimapur, Oct. 13 (EMN): The singing competition, Gospel Voice Hunt Competition,’ organized by the youth music ministry of Gorkha Baptist Church of Mon was held on  October 12 at the GBC in Mon.

The event was conducted with the theme “Sing to the Lord,” the organisers informed. The competition was organized to give platform to Gospel singers who can preach the Gospel through music and worship, a press release stated.

The music ministry also aimed to make use of music to strengthen friendship and to bridge the gap between various communities of Mon town.

This was the First time the community of Gorkha at Mon town took initiative of organising singing competition for singers, the updates stated.

MH Daniel, administrator of Sacred Heart School at Mon, addressed the event.  He urged the participant to worship God with their talents. He advised the youths to learn good music and to glorify God’s kingdom.

The event also saw a performance by judges of Gospel Voice Hunt  namely Chinglang Konyak, director of Mon School of Music, and Shelao Kheang, winner of the ITF&E singing competition 2019, the updates stated.  Ayong Konyak, drummer of a band in Mon, Toxic Peace Band, was also on the judges’ panel for the competition, the updates stated.

Altogether 30 contestants from Mon town took part in the event. The winners of the competition were first prize winner P Tanwang Konyak of Tompang ward, and runners-up Leye Konyak of the students’ ministry of the KBBB.
